Monkey Canopy is a fictional boutique hotel brand created for my Graphic Design II course at Keystone College. The project focused on developing a cohesive hospitality identity system for an original hotel concept. Inspired by jungle and safari aesthetics, I wanted the brand to feel adventurous, playful, and visually immersive while still maintaining a polished boutique atmosphere.
Role + Tools
Role: Graphic Designer + Brand Developer
Tools: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, typography, logo design, branding systems, packaging design, and stationery design
Design Direction
The design direction centered around tropical and safari-inspired visuals combined with modern boutique branding. Earthy tones, organic shapes, layered textures, and playful typography helped create a brand identity that felt adventurous while remaining clean and recognizable. The goal was to create a visual experience that reflected the personality and atmosphere of the fictional hotel.
Process
Throughout the project, I developed a full visual identity system that included logos, stationery materials, and branded objects designed for the hotel experience. The process involved exploring typography, color palettes, layout systems, and environmental branding while ensuring that each piece felt visually connected and cohesive. I focused on balancing playful jungle-inspired visuals with professional hospitality branding.
